Wine Review: This clear and midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Figgins is incredibly impressive given its age. It opens with a menthol and black cherry bouquet with hints of teaberry gum and pine pitch. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, silky, and polished. The flavor profile is cassis and black cherry blend with notes of stone dust and oak. We also detected hints of chocolate, oolong tea, and basil. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins build-up and linger and last for a while. We could certainly drink this wine on its own. With food, we would pair this Cab blend with New York strip steak or with Stuart’s steak treats. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Rich in color, the wine entices you with an intoxicating nose of baking spices, cherry compote, wild roses, cassis, and caramel apple. Layer upon layer of perfectly ripe red and black fruits and silky tannin engage the palate. I have not been this excited about a Figgins release since my inaugural vintage in 2008!
