Wine Review: This hazy and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Figgins opens with a black cherry and cassis bouquet with hints of clove, light coffee, and chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, seamless, and shows gentle tension. The flavor profile is a complex blend of blackberry and graphite with notes of black cherry, oolong tea, and black licorice. We also detected hints of oak, black pepper, dark chocolate, and orange zest. This wine has lots of layers. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its slightly grippy tannins build-up nicely before drifting away nicely. We would pair this sophisticated and graceful Cab blend with a porterhouse steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dark garnet to the rim of the glass. Exotic, perfumed nose of ripe red and black fruits with hints of grilled bread, beef tartar, and a summer garden just after rain. The enticing palate is loaded with dark red fruit and lovely hints of fresh herbs. Texturally robust and velvety with mouth-filling, integrated tannins and a glycerin finish that lasts forever. An absolutely delicious wine from a low-yielding vintage.
