Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based red blend from Figgins is excellent! It benefits from a decant and some good swirls while its young. The bouquet features a mild cigar box and ground coffee bouquet with hints of dark chocolate, black olive, musty loam, and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry and stone dust blend with notes of stewed plum and black olive. We also detected hints of cedar, anise, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-managed dusty tannins build-up and are nicely sustained. We would pair this red blend with a dry-aged porterhouse steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Impressively dark in the glass. The nose absolutely bursts with wild red fruits, floral notes, and spiced, grilled meats. On the palate, the texture is rich and velvety, building in complexity with layers of red and black fruit, warm baking spices, and savory depth. The finish is plush, powerful, and incredibly long. From the Miracle Vintage of 2022, this may be one of the most captivating expressions of the Estate Red to date.
