Wine Review: Pronounced "FEE-Lia," this opaque and deep garnet colored Merlot based blend from Figgins opens with a mild cherry and fig bouquet with hints of plum and ash. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is stone dust and mild black cherry blend with notes of tobacco and marionberry. We also detected hints of black licorice, black plum, stone dust, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins build-up and last for a while. We would decant this red blend for a bit, before pairing it with a porterhouse steak or with barbecue pork ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: My favorite Figlia to date! Very dark crimson color. The bouquet opens with baking spices, cinnamon, ripe boysenberries, and follows with more subtle aromas of cranberry sauce and menthol. A wine of dimension that starts off with a sultry softness and expands into a full-bodied structure with rich notes of warm raspberry cobbler. The finish is silky, balanced, and full. Incredibly approachable today.
