Wine Review: This deep yellow colored Chardonnay from Flanagan via the Bacigalupi Vineyard is Excellent! It opens with a pineapple, ripe honeydew melon and toasted coconut bouquet with hints of apricot. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty lemon, pineapple and oak blend with notes of vanilla, butterscotch and apple pie spice (cinnamon, nutmeg & allspice). I also picked up hints of caramel and the toasted coconut again towards the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Chard is delicious and can certainly be enjoyed on its own. With food, I would pair it with a sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2016 Flanagan Chardonnay "Bacigalupi Vineyard" opens with a nose of ripe Meyer lemon, and a hint of red apple. The palate is very delineated and balanced. The ripe citrus maintains the tension and the sur lie barrel aging creates a beautiful texture. Like well-made Chardonnay from great vineyards around the world this wine benefits from getting some air. It will age for years and is best when served around 50 degrees.
