Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay from the "Ritchie Vineyard" opens with a mild pear and gentle pineapple bouquet with a hint of wet stone and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied and nicely balanced between its acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty spiced Anjou pear, oak and green apple blend with notes of pineapple. We also detected hints of butter, minerality and a touch of lemon. The finish is dry and its delicate flavors and well-managed acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Chard with seafood casserole. Enjoy - Ken (Updated 7/3/20)
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Ritchie Chardonnay has a very expressive nose of jasmine. honeysuckle, and orange blossom. The palate is dominated by stone fruits like apricot and fresh peach and has a gorgeous minerality that carries the wine. This is stunning wine, from one of Sonoma County’s most coveted sites for Chardonnay and will evolve in bottle for many years to come.
