Wine Review: This Syrah from Flanagan is murky dark purple colored with indigo edges. It opens with a smoked meat and blackberry bouquet with faint hints of blueberry, oak and baking spices. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, slightly acidic, smooth and polished. The flavor profile is a tasty smoked meat and black licorice blend with notes of black cherry, blackberry, Baker’s chocolate and black pepper. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. This Syrah would benefit from some decanting in the near term. I would pair it with a Norwegian smoked salmon or a cowboy ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Flavor profile: white pepper, black cherry, & bay leaf.
