Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Nebbiolo from Fontanafredda opens with a maraschino cherry and red licorice bouquet with hints of cinnamon, rose pedals, and faint leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and delicate for a Barolo. The flavor profile is a crushed stone and Teaberry gum blend with notes of maraschino cherry. We also detected some hints of baking spices and raspberry tea. The finish is dry and subtle for a Barolo. Its managed tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this very approachable Barolo with bone-in Tuscan veal chop. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The color is garnet-red with ruby highlights that take on a slightly orange tone over time. It has a clear-cut, intense nose with sweet sensations of spices and hints of dried rose and sous bois. The taste is soft, full, velvety, harmonic and vibrant. Pair with French boeuf bourguignonne.
