Wine Review: This deep ruby colored blend from Portugal opens with an oak influenced blueberry and blackberry bouquet with hints tobacco leaf and roasted meat. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is similar to the nose. It features oak and mild blackberry with notes of plum. We also picked up some hints of oolong tea, black currant and black jellybean in the after taste. The finish is dry and its rustic flavors and dusty tannins linger and last for a while. This is a good value wine that would pair well with a garlic and rosemary char-grilled butterflied leg of lamb or with a juicy thick burger off the grill. Enjoy – Ken and Mark (KH 88 MP 89)
