Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Merlot based blend from Washington opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet with a hint of fig and red plum. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, rich and its tannins are noticeably present. The flavor profile is a black cherry, black currant and earthy loam blend with notes graphite and oak. We also detected some hints of black tea and anise mixed in as well. The finish is rather dry, and its bold dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this red blend for a couple of hours before serving it with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy – KWGTP
