Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Washington state opens with a cured meat and black cherry with hints of cola and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, savory, and bright for a Syrah. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry and mild mocha with notes of fine grained minerality, blackberry and espresso. I also detected hints of oak, black cherry, and a touch of black licorice nibs. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins drift away nicely. This excellent Syrah would pair well with many foods. I would pair it with Roy's rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
