Wine Review: This clear and deep ruby colored Pinot Noir from Frank Family opens with a black raspberry and a funky black tea bouquet with hints of black pepper, dried strawberry, and smokehouse. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and savory. The flavor profile is black pepper and black raspberry blend with notes of juicy red plum, loam, and cardamon. We also detected some hints of Chinese five spice, cedar, and clove. The finish is dry, and its flavors, tingly acidity, and moderate fine tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Pinot with a rum-seared duck appetizer with a blackberry chutney. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
