Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Zinfandel from Frank Family opens with a fragrant black raspberry, beer hops, and orange bouquet with hints of black licorice and clove. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, super smooth, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is extracted black raspberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of dried strawberry and Australian black licorice. I also detected hints of cedar, black pepper, and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its dusty tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Zin with Firefly’s St. Louis ribs with their Memphis sauce. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This lively expression of Zinfandel offers aromas of dark plum, raspberry coulis, and sandalwood on the nose. On the palate, flavors of baked strawberry, dried herbs, and ground pepper commingle, while ripe, firm tannins and fine acidity frame and lift the wine into a long, unending finish.
