Wine Review: This Spatlese level Riesling from Mosel is light straw colored and opens with a musty, flinty gun powder like bouquet with hints of apple in the background. But don’t let the aroma’s fool you, this wine was our top finisher in our blind tasting and is very very tasty. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly sweet and balanced. The flavor profile is a delicious mild peach and ginger blend with nicely integrated minerality. We also detected hints of honey, sweet tea and apricot. The finish remains pleasantly sweet and nicely prolonged. The Panel suggested drinking this beauty on its own. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The Juffer vineyard surrounds the smaller Juffer Sonnenuhr on three sides, extending both upstream and downstream, as well as above the sundial. This vineyard produces lighter, more delicate wines than the warmer, riper Sonnenuhr. The late-picked Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spatlese has fine, forceful fruit in the aroma, a linear focus on the palate and a pure slate finish. A great choice for spicy dishes with fresh flavors and a lively sweet/tart balance.
