Wine Review: This white gold colored Riesling from Fritz Haag opens with a pink grapefruit and matchstick bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium acidity. The flavor profile is a chalky mineral and lime blend with notes of Anjou pear and Squirt soda. The finish is mostly dry and refreshing. I would pair this mouthwatering entry-level Riesling with oysters on the half shell. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: It is made in a slightly off-dry style (called "feinherb" in German) that perfectly balances its fine peach and citrus fruit with the typically brisk acidity of Riesling grown in this cool-climate region. This makes it a very refreshing choice to serve as an aperitif, with salty appetizers, or as a partner for lighter vegetable dishes.
