Wine Review: This clear and white gold colored Chardonnay from Gary Farrell opens with a pineapple and poached pear bouquet with hints of oak, lemon, almond paste, and guava. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very well balanced, smooth, plush, supple, and seamless. The flavor profile is a toasted oak influenced pineapple with notes of caramel and Bosc pear. We also detected hints of marzipan, green apple, lemon, and Nilla wafers. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. We would pair this excellent Chard with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli in a light butter cream sauce or with a warm buttered lobster roll. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Superbly balanced and focused upon entry, this wine presents an array of stone fruit flavors, lemon meringue pie, honey crisp apple, and zesty citrus. Aromas of pie crust, baking spices, vanilla, and cedar provide a compelling depth of aroma. Medium bodied and remarkably silky throughout, this offering is a classic expression of Bacigalupi Chardonnay.
