Wine Review: This clear and medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Gary Farrell opens with a red raspberry and dried strawberry bouquet with hints of violet, dark chocolate, and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, lively, and savory. The flavor profile is red raspberry and strawberry licorice blend with notes of cedar and clove. We also detected hints of cinnamon, loam, green tea, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Pinot with pork belly over peach risotto or with a grilled butterflied leg of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Rochioli-Allen Pinot Noir is classically deceptive, and this vintage is no exception. The first glance reveals a light, unassuming wine. The first smells is a fresh baked cherry and rhubarb crumple, drawing you in for more, yet surprising you again with tangy, concentrated flavors of raspberry coulis, tangerine pith, dried roses, and a hint of savory herbs. Youthful tannins are persistent on the mid-palate and finish.
