Wine Review: This dark red colored Gamay and Pinot Noir from Gros Ventre opens with a cranberry, red raspberry, and loam bouquet with hints of rhubarb. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, bright, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is loam influenced juicy red plum and red licorice blend with notes of raspberry tea and dried strawberries. I also detected hints of black pepper, craisin, and stone dust. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would pair this red blend with a charcuterie board. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This four-barrel cuvée is a 50/50 blend of Gamay from Las Cimas (formerly Rancho Coda) combined with Pinot from a small vineyard in Sebastopol. It has 15% whole cluster and spent 10 months in 100% neutral French oak prior to being bottled unfined & unfiltered. Every year this wine gets a little more serious and complex, while maintaining its playful nature. This polished wine is bright on the palate and offers aromas and flavors of strawberry, cranberry, violets, and fresh herbs. Serve chilled. Its lighter body makes it a perfect pairing for cedar plank grilled salmon, cured meats, and wood-oven pizza.
