Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from South Africa was the winner of our first big blind tasting. It opens with an oak and cola bouquet with a hint of cherry and cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral and oak influenced plum with notes of black olive. We also picked up some hints of strawberry and red raspberry mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and managed moderate tannins sail on for quite a while. The Panel really enjoyed this complex Pinot and suggested pairing it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our Pinot Noir is not overtly fruity, soft and “sweet” and it generally shows hints of that alluring savory "primal" character along with a dark, spicy, complex primary fruit perfume.
