Wine Review: This dark red colored good value wine from Portugal opens with a black raspberry bouquet that includes oak, new leather and spices, including clove. I also detected hints of vanilla. This full-bodied red was smooth, soft and juicy. The flavor profile is black raspberry and oak with notes of black licorice, peppercorn and light spices. Though not a complicated red, I was fond of the balanced tannins. I believe this red wine is a crowd pleaser and a food friendly wine that will be appreciated by all. The finish is dusty dry with notes of black cherry that fade away nicely. I would pair this nice value wine with mushroom risotto. – Joe
