Wine Review: This ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino from Il Poggione opens with a cedar and strawberry bouquet with hints of wet stone and loam. On the palate this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a cedar infused black cherry and stony minerality blend with notes of oolong tea and plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors and dusty tannins linger and last for a while. This Brunello paired very well with veal parmigiana at Carmines. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Ruby red in color, with a very intense, persistent nose and with red fruit notes. Warm, balanced flavor with velvet-smooth tannins. Long-lasting aroma. Pair with red meats, game, and mature cheeses.
