Wine Review: This dark ruby Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Paso Robles opens with a black currant bouquet with hints of black cherry and toasted coconut. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, juicy and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and black currant blend with notes of vanilla and toasted coconut. I also detected hints of black cherry and licorice towards the end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and medium tannins linger for a while. This is a very good value weekday Cab. It is easy to drink, food friendly and versatile. I would pair with a bacon cheeseburger off the grill. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2019 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is dense and dark at the core, with a brilliant garnet hue around the rim. Ripe fruit aromas of black cherry and currant are accented by notes of toasted pastry, hazelnut, and vanilla from our barrel aging program. Big, juicy red-fruit flavors infuse the palate while softly textured tannins lead to a long finish. Delicious with pulled-pork sandwiches and coleslaw or your favorite lasagna dish.
