Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from J. Lohr opens with a mulberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is mild black berry and oak blend with notes of black plum. I also detected hints Chai tea and toasted coconut. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins and tingly acidity linger nicely. This easy to drink Merlot is a nice and affordable mid-week option to pair with your favorite burger or burrito recipe.
