Wine Review: Once again, the Syrah from J. Lohr impresses. It is dark ruby colored and opens with a black cherry and black plum bouquet with hints of oak or violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and bright. The flavor profile is black cherry and oak blend with notes of clove, and mild black tea. We also detected hints of fresh blackberry, stone dust, and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its well-managed mild tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this versatile Syrah with your favorite bacon burger recipe or a hearty beef stew. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Deeply colored with vibrant purple and magenta hues. Varietal aromas of black cherry and fresh blueberry are accented by black tea, bergamot, and lilac. The juicy and spicy structure with notes of blueberry and cherry, and a floral touch on the finish. Nuanced with vibrant fruit upon release. Expect texture to soften over the first 2 years in the bottle, with the capacity to hold another 8 years or more. Try with oven-baked baby back ribs.
