Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr opens with a fragrant and appealing black currant and boysenberry bouquet with hints of black licorice and cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medicine plus acidity. The mouthfeel balanced, silky, seamless, and fresh. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant and blueberry blend with notes of black tea and dark chocolate. I also detected hints of graphite and cola. The finish is rather dry, and its flavors, acidity and dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. This Cab benefits from a little aeration. I would decant it before pairing it with a classic beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
