Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from J. Lohr opens with a fragrant mixed berries and violets bouquet with hints of pie crust and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and dense. The flavor profile is a concentrated marionberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of graphite and clove. We also detected hints of dried herbs and cassis. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its bold sticky tannins linger and last for a very long time.
