Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr opens with a shy currant and cinnamon bouquet with hints of mocha. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth and bright. The flavor profile is black currant and oak blend with notes of elderberry and stone dust. We also detected hints of black cherry and green tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. We would pair this Cab with a grilled hanger steak. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Displays blackberry and blueberry compote aromas garnished with crushed violet, cracked pepper, and black tea. Plump fruit on the palate with fine-grained tannins. Juicy layers of black and red currants lead to a bright finish accented by pastry notes from the 16 months aging in French cooperage. Pair with a rosemary seasoned ribeye with garlic roasted potatoes with parsnips and fennel.
