Wine Review: This opaque and deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr is for readers who like full throttle wines. It opens with a fragrant cassis and black cherry bouquet with hints of licorice, tobacco, and violet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, smooth, and dense. The flavor profile is an extracted black cherry and graphite blend with notes of black tea and cassis. I also detected hints of cedar, cocoa, tobacco, and clove. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and bold and dusty tannins stick around for quite a while.
