Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr is very good. It opens with a shy black cherry bouquet with hints of baking spice and bay leaf. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and approachable. The flavor profile is a black cherry and mild graphite blend with notes of gentle currant and clove. I also detected hints of oak, coconut, and black coffee. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-managed tannins drift away nicely. This friendly Cabernet Sauvignon is very versatile. It would make a nice glass pour option. I would pair it with your favorite juicy pub burger or with grilled steak frites with mâitre d’hôtel butter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ripe fruit aromas of black cherry and currant are accented by notes of toasted pastry, hazelnut, and vanilla from our authentic barrel aging program. Big, juicy red-fruit flavors infuse the palate while softly textured tannins lead to a long, gratifying finish.
