Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Mourvèdre from Jambe de Bois opens with a moist pipe tobacco and mild black cherry bouquet with hints of red raspberry, fig, sandalwood, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, layered, lush, and seamless. The flavor profile is a mild tobacco and gentle red cherry blend with notes of spiced black plum, and cinnamon. We also detected hints of cedar, stone dust, and a touch of mocha. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its medium grippy tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Mourvèdre with short ribs with a lardon and mushroom sauce or with grilled bratwurst. Enjoy - Ken, Mark, & Stuart

Winemaker Notes: Nice acidity with notes of dark cherry and pepper.
