Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Syrah from Jambe de Bois opens with a shy wild cherry pie and smoked meat bouquet with hints of leather and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth and polished. The flavor profile is a blackberry and graphite blend with notes of black tea and cocoa dust. We also detected hints of tobacco, allspice, fennel, and cherry-cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate grippy tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. We would sip this excellent Syrah with wine loving friends. With food, we would pair this wine Roy’s rib roast or smoked brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Organically farmed Foxy and the Hounds Vineyard. 2024 Syrah is a youthful purple color, fermented with 25% whole clusters, followed by 14 months in 95% new French oak. It's savory with notes of black olive, preserved black plums dark berries, crushed lavender, and turned earth. It's full-bodied, with a ripe feel, although it's more approachable, and its ripe tannins don’t take over. It has just a hint of chewiness but is very nicely detailed and has a toasted perfume of oak spice on the finish.
