Wine Review: This slightly hazy and pale ruby colored Gamay Noir from the Jambe de Bois opens with an inviting mild red raspberry and strawberry bouquet with hints of a cinnamon and a New England autumn leaf pile. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a lingonberry and loam blend with notes of red raspberry and black tea. We also detected hints of dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate tannins linger for quite a while. We would pair this Gamay with Jägerschnitzel ("hunter's schnitzel") smothered with a creamy brown mushroom sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The inaugural Gamay Noir release from organically farmed Foxy and the Hounds Vineyard. It opens with spicy aromatics of white pepper that rise from the glass. Followed by juicy raspberry and vibrant red fruit notes. Velvety in texture with refreshing acidity, this Gamay is approachable, energetic, and delicious lightly chilled.
