Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Joseph Phelps is Excellent! It opens with a light oak and pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a delicious toasted oak infused Bosc pear and green apple blend. I also detected notes of butterscotch throughout. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for quite a while after the wine is gone. This Chard is ideal to enjoy on its own. With food I would pair it with sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Opulent aromatics of white flower, citrus peel, toasted brioche and stone fruit highlight this latest vintage of Chardonnay from our Pastorale Vineyard. With a lush, round mouthfeel, creamy texture and bright acidity, this wine showcases ripe apricot, lemon custard and crushed rock mineral notes throughout the palate to the lingering spice and citrus finish.
