Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored wine opens with a shy light black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, very nicely balanced, extremely elegant, and smooth. The flavor profile is a dusty cherry. The finish is quite dry and its rather lengthy building fine tannins sail on for quite some time. Pair this Excellent wine with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromatics in the 2006 Backus are layered with classic notes of crushed rock, ripe blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and violet. The full mid-palate is dominated by flavors of mineral, mocha and dense fruit. Incredible concentration, structure and depth are the backbone of this wine and lead to the rich, long finish.
