Wine Review: This ruby colored entry level Pinotage from Kanonkop opens with a fig and blackberry bouquet with hints of green grapes. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is rounded, mouthwatering and juicy. The flavor profile is similar to the nose with a fig and blackberry blend with notes of green grapes, black licorice, and cedar. I also detected hints of beef jerky and stewed black plum in the background. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins are well-managed. This is a very good entry level Pinotage. I would pair it with smoked brisket sandwich. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Intense purple hues with lively aromas of fresh plums, mulberries, and allspice, followed by a meaty undertone. The palate displays an inherent earthy touch, with flavors of crimson beetroot and maraschino cherries. Coherent balance between the fruit and the fresh acidity, with muscular support from the tightly woven tannin structure.
