Wine Review: This dark purple colored GSM is a fruit bomb. It opens with a very fragrant ripe blackberry and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of musty wood and leather in the background behind the fruit. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic and round. It is fruit forward featuring extracted blackberry jam flavors along with notes black pepper, anise and oak. I also detected hints of stewed plums and a dash of Chinese five-spice powder. The finish is dry and its fruit and mild tannins gently fade away. This GSM is a nice weekday sipper to enjoy around the fire pit some evening this summer. With food, I would pair it with a charcuterie platter featuring dried wild boar salami. Enjoy - Ken
