Wine Review: This Cabernet from Krupp Brothers is a New World wine posing as an Old World wine. It is very dark ruby colored and opens with a musty raspberry bouquet with notes of graphite, black licorice and campfire smoke. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and chalky. The flavor profile is a dusty black olive with notes of prune and sweet cherry. We also detected a dash of black pepper as well. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are brief and tamed. The panel suggested pairing the Cab with a grilled steak or cassoulet in the near term. Enjoy – KWGTP (Wine to be released in March 2013)

Winemaker Notes: M5 is the name of the vineyard block from which all of the Cabernet Sauvignon in this wine is sourced. This wine speaks of the unique terroir of the high elevation soils of Stagecoach Vineyard. Dark in color with layered aromas of ripe blackberry, currant, cocoa, vanilla, and toasted oak. Polished entry and bright with umami and bold dark fruit flavors that support beautiful phenolic structure. Delightful finish with lingering tannins which leaves the palate craving more. Drink now through 2024.
