Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple colored Syrah opens with a fragrant black currant bouquet with a hint of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and rather smooth. The flavor profile is a jammy black currant with note of black licorice, clove, and raspberry on the back palate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are dusty and nicely prolonged. This wine would pair very well with slow cooked barbecue beef brisket. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A rich reddish black hue gives way to aromas of violets, boysenberries, vanilla and cinnamon. The palate transitions to currants, dark cherries, ripe plums and black pepper. Well structured with polished, supple, soft tannins and a long, silky finish. Great with Pepper seasoned Porterhouse steak, Peking duck, rack of lamb, or flourless chocolate cake with fresh blueberries and cream. Enjoy now through 2016.
