Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from La Jota was well received by our mini-panel. This wine opens with a blueberry bouquet with a hint of acai berry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty boysenberry and black plum blend with notes of cinnamon. We also detected a little strawberry licorice mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Cab Franc with crock pot braised beef short ribs. Winemaker Notes: On the palate, the 2016 La Jota Cabernet Franc has an approachable gravelly minerality followed by herbal aromatics. Notes of anise, blackberry, and black tea are carried by an impressive mouthfeel and long drawn out finish.
