Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Landmark opens with a spiced plum and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of Teaberry gum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and friendly. The flavor profile is loam and spiced black plum blend with notes of charred oak. I also detected some hints of Teaberry gum and red licorice in the mix. The finish is dry and a little bit rustic. This wine benefits from some air. I would decant this Pinot briefly and then pair it with beef carpaccio with Burgundy truffles. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Medium purple/ruby color with attractive aromas of strawberry compote, red cherry and plum with toasted oak, vanilla and cinnamon spice, leather, red licorice, a little camphor with subtle purple floral notes. On the palate the wine is moderate to not quite full-bodied with ripe fruit of red berry, cherry and plum with vanilla, cinnamon and toasted oak leading into a mid-palate that features leather, a touch of dried herbs, camphor with underlying earthy notes. The finish is moderately long and fresh with lingering fruit, barrel spice and perfectly balanced tannins. The 2019 Overlook Pinot Noir pairs equally well with a rotisserie roasted chicken with garlic and herbs as it does with a hearty lasagna.
