Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Lazy Creek was well-received by our mini-tasting group. This wine opens with a mild strawberry bouquet with a hint of Maraschino cherry, crushed stone and rose petal. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a complex and tasty blend of mild black plum and strawberry with notes of minerality. We also picked up some hints of cinnamon and a touch of black tea mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. Our group suggested pairing this Pinot with pheasant or a veal chop. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Between two ridges in the hills above Boonville in Anderson Valley, sits Lazy Creek's Middleridge Ranch. The 2016 Lazy Creek Middleridge Ranch Pinot Noir seduces with a perfumed nose of cherries, vanilla and licorice, followed by mouthwatering, juicy flavors of plum, pomegranate. Ripe, red currants on the mid-palate are complemented by persistent cola and spice on the finish. It pairs well with fowl and meat entrees such as beef bourguignon or rack of lamb.
