Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel from the Carlisle Vineyard very good and will appeal to readers who prefer red fruits. It opens with a red plum and black raspberry bouquet with hints of moist pipe tobacco, lilac and pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. It is also rather juicy bright, and fruit-forward. The fruits are mainly red and feature tangy red plum and red currant along with hints of kumquat, cranberry, lingonberry and mild oak. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger and last for quite a while. This Zin would be a nice refreshing summer red to serve slightly cool on the porch on a hot summer day. With food this Zin would be nice with a grilled pork chop. Enjoy – KWGTP
