Wine Review: This very dark red colored Zinfandel from Limerick Lane opens with a shy blackberry bouquet with hints of oolong tea and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very smooth, silky, and well-balanced. The flavor profile is a stewed plum and fine mineral blend with notes of black pepper and blackberry. I also detected some hints of oak, black licorice, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins are very prolonged. This wine benefits from aeration as its fruit really intensifies with some air added. I would pair this Zin with a steak fajitas.
