Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Limerick Lane opens with a blackberry and coffee bouquet with hints of menthol, brownies, and black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and supple. The flavor profile is a stone dust and spiced black plum blend with notes of blackberry and oak. We also detected hints of tobacco, cocoa powder, and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and refined dusty tannins stick around for a bit. We would pair this Syrah with braised short ribs or with Sheri’s sausage stuffed mushrooms.
