Wine Review: This opaque and very dark violet colored Mencia opens with a musty barnyard and new leather bouquet with hints of black cherry in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a mineral infused black cherry with notes of oak and red currant. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for quite a while after the wine is gone. This Mencia would pair well with a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The flagship wine produced from 21 small estate parcels on steep hillsides, is aged 15 months in new French oak and achieves the estate's highest levels of concentration and minerality.
