Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Mencia from Bierzo opens with a strawberry and new leather bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar influenced cherry with notes of crushed stone minerality and hints of black tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and well managed tannins drift away nicely. This is a very good Mencia. It is very food friendly and would pair well with shredded beef brisket enchiladas. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The flagship wine produced from 21 small estate parcels on steep hillsides, is aged 15 months in new French oak and achieves the estate’s highest levels of concentration and minerality.
