Wine Review: This inky pitch black colored red blend from Toscana is a big boy wine and not for the faint of heart! It opens with a ripe blackberry and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich, meaty and displays extracted fruit. Those fruits are a ripe blackberry and oak blend with notes of black licorice. I also detected some black cherry and dark chocolate. The finish is rather dry and its robust tannins linger for a while. This wine needs decanting in the near term. Long term cellaring is suggested as we think this wine will age nicely. When you do pull it out, serve with it with a pot roast. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A deep, concentrated ruby red. The nose boasts an impressive complex of aromas, opening immediately with intense notes of fresh berryfruit, particularly blackcurrant and raspberry, followed by a hint of smooth vanilla hovering in the background. The palate offers an ultra-appealing crispness complementing its flavours of ripe fruit, dried flowers, and spices edged in smoke. Dense-packed, velvet textured tannins contribute to an impressive structure that gives the wine its solid backbone. A near-endless finish provides a seductive vein of tangy mineral and spice, completing a wine that showcases a marriage of crispness and power.
