Wine Review: This dark cherry colored Merlot opens with a fragrant and ripe black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty blend of black cherry and blackberry with a touch of mild oak in the background. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build quickly, and then subside. Pair this wine with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2006 Napa Valley Merlot is an intense ruby red. The nose is filled with scents of tangerines, roses, and tobacco. The mid-palate is a tightly integrated mixture of blackberries, plums, and leather. Fine-grained tannins and great acidity hold the wine together as the finish melts into earthy cocoa and cassis. This Merlot will be at its peak from 2013 through 2016.
