Wine Review: This light red colored Barolo from M. A. Monticelli is not your typical big boy Barolo. Instead, it is elegant, friendly, and very drinkable right now. It opens with a fragrant cinnamon gum bouquet with hints of red cherry and new leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and approachable. The flavor profile is a mild red raspberry and stony minerality blend with notes of cinnamon, cedar, and red cherry. The finish is rather dry and its well-managed dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. This wine is ready to go and would pair nicely with Italian braciole. Enjoy – Ken
