Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and medium garnet colored Syrah from M. Chapoutier opens with a red currant and clove bouquet with hints of Chinese five spice, iron filings, bacon, and leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, fresh, layered, and savory. The flavor profile is a cranberry and cedar blend with notes of tart lingonberry and stony minerality. We also detected hints of red licorice, cola, black pepper, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, tingly acidity and managed tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Syrah with a tangy pulled pork platter or barbecue brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Very intense purplish red.
Nose: Red fruits, black currant, and raspberry, followed by violet aromas.
Palate: Ample and round, final of stewed fruits and vanilla.
Sommelier's advice: "Les Meyonniers" is a wine with fleshy tannins, and loads of floral and black fruit notes, as well as elegance. Pair with oven-baked veal rack with forestry sauce and Hasselback potatoes.
